1.1 Introduction

Question Answer is a stunning, professional, and flexible social questions and answers website specially designed for Online Communities, Niche Questions and Answers Websites, Marketing Websites, Developers Websites, or any kind of Social Communities. You can create a full-featured Q&A network.

Users are able to ask questions, answer questions, get reputation points, like/dislike answers, create front-end profiles, send private messages to each other, follow other users and their activities, and much more. The website is built with a full-screen width layout. It is fully responsive and user-friendly. Also, compatible with all screens, devices, and browsers.

1.2 How To Set Up Question Answer Based Website

This section contains the description of the plugin installation and brief description of the plugins used in Question Answer Based Website niche.

1.2.1 Plugin Installation

After getting succesfully authenticated and downloading the theme the next important step is to install the plugins of the required niche.

Follow the below mentioned steps for the plugin installation.

  • Navigate > > Dashboard > > Settings.

2. Questions

Questions panel comes with the DW Question Answer plugin which have so many settings that are easy to customize and self-explanatory. With these settings, you can add new questions, answers and also add categories.

Navigate to Dashboard >> Questions

2.1 Questions

In this setting, you can see all questions and you can also create new questions .

2.2 Add New Question

This setting is used to create new question.

2.2.1 Add New Question
  • Add Title - Enter the title of the question.
  • Description - Add the description of the question.
2.2.2 Question Meta Data, Question Categories

Question Meta Data

  • Status - You can select the status of the question according to the need.
  • Sticky - To enable the question to the top of the archive page select the checkbox.

Question Categories

  • All Question Categories - It shows a list of all question categories. You can select any category according to the need.
  • Most Used - It shows a list of question categories which are mostly used. You can select any category according to the need.
  • You can also add new category of the question by clicking on the Add New Question Category.

2.2.3 Question Tags, Featured Image

Question Tags

  • Question Tags - You can enter question tags. Please separate question tags with commas. You can also choose any tag from the most common used tags.

Featured Image

  • Featured Image - You can set the featured image of the question by clicking on the link set featured image.

Apart from these settings, you can also enable comments and pingbacks and trackback for the questions page.

2.3 Question Category

Using this setting you can add the category for the question.

Add New Question Category

  • Name - Enter the name of the category. The name is how it appears on your site.
  • Slug - The “slug” is the URL-friendly version of the name. It is usually all lowercase and contains only letters, numbers, and hyphens.
  • Parent Question Category - Select the parent question category from here. It will assign a parent term to create a hierarchy. The term Jazz, for example, would be the parent of Bebop and Big Band.
  • Description - Enter the description of the question category. It is not prominent by default; however, some themes may show it.
  • Add New Question Category - Hit the button to create a new question category.

2.4 Question Tags

With this setting you can add new the question tags.

Add New Question Tag

  • Name - Please enter the name of the question tag. The name is how it appears on your site.
  • Slug - The “slug” is the URL-friendly version of the name. It is usually all lowercase and contains only letters, numbers, and hyphens.
  • Description - Enter the description of the question tag. It is not prominent by default; however, some themes may show it.
  • Add New Question Tag - Hit the button to add new question tag.

2.5 Answers

This setting will enable you to see all the answers and you can also add new answer by clicking on the button Add New Answer.

Add New Answer

  • Title - Enter the title of the answer.
  • Description - Enter the description of the answer.
  • Custom Field - You can add custom field here. Custom fields can be used to add extra metadata to a post that you can use in your theme.
  • Discussion - You can select any mode of the discussion.
  • Question ID - Enter the question ID here.
  • Author - Select the author of the post from here.
  • Post Attributes - Enter the order of the post.

2.6 Settings

The settings tab contains sub-tabs through which you can customize the various settings of the Questions.

2.6.1 General

Page Settings

  • Question List Page - Select the page which displays all questions. Make sure that you have added the Question List shortcode on that page.
  • Ask Question Page - Select a page where users can submit questions. Make sure that you have added the Question Form shortcode on that page

Question Settings

  • Archive Page Show At Most - Enter the number of question which you want to display on the Archive Page.
  • Before A Question Appears - To enable, that question must be manually approved, select the checkbox.
  • Other Question Settings - Select any option according to the need.

Answer Settings

  • Answer Listing - Select the option to show all answers on single question page. Otherwise, enter the number of the answers to show on question page.

Vote Settings

  • Allow Anonymous Vote - To allow anonymous vote, select the checkbox.

Akismet Settings

  • Use Akismet anti-spam - To enable Akismet select the checkbox.
  • Akismet API key - Enter the Akismet API key here.
  • Akismet connection status - This setting shows the Akismet connection status.

Auto Closure Settings

  • Use Auto Closure - To enable the Auto Closure select the checkbox.
  • Closure after - Enter the number of days. Days should be greater than 0.

Captcha Settings

  • Type - Select the type of the Captcha.
  • Closure after - To enable captcha on submit question page, select the checkbox.
  • Single Question Page - To enable captcha on single question page, select the checkbox.

Permalink Settings

  • Question Base - Enter the label for the question base.
  • Question Category Base - Enter the label for the question category base.
  • Question Tag Base - Enter the label for the question tag base.
2.6.2 Emails

Email Settings

  • Email Logo - Upload or choose a logo to be displayed at the top of the email.
  • From Email - Enter the email address that will be used as the sender of the outgoing emails.
  • Email Delay - To enable email delay select the checkbox.
  • Send a copy of every email to admin. - To send a copy of every email to admin select the checkbox.

New Question Notifications

  • Enable? - To enable notification for new question select the checkbox.
  • Email subject - Enter the email subject.
  • Forward to - Enter the forword to information here.

New Answer Notifications

    New Answer Notifications (to Followers)

  • Enable? - To enable notification for new answer (to Followers) select the checkbox.
  • Email subject - Enter the email subject.
  • Forward to - Enter the forword to information here.

    New Answer Notifications (to Author)

  • Enable? - To enable notification for new answer (to Author) select the checkbox.
  • Email subject - Enter the email subject.
  • Forward to - Enter the forword to information here.
  • Note - You can customize the similar settings for the New Comments Notification.
2.6.3 Permissions

Using this setting you can grant the permissions related to the Question, Answer, and Comments.

2.6.4 Licenses

You can manage DWQA Extensions license keys using this setting.

3. Question Answer Shortcodes

In these section you will learn and get information about the Shortcodes used for Question Answer Based Website niche of MOTOCOM theme.

This shortcode is used to display the questions list. This is an automated shortcode with no additional settings. You have to just add this shortcode on the page.
